Santa plans visit to Brownsville December 15 and 17
BROWNSVILLE TN (Tuesday, December 6, 2016):
It was a hard call, but when the Brownsville – Haywood County Rescue Squad had to cancel the annual Christmas Parade they knew there would be many disappointed children in our community. With this in mind, they put in a special request to Santa and asked if he might consider visiting Brownsville two more times before Christmas Eve. Of course, Santa was more than happy to add the dates to his schedule and has agreed to visit with area children on Thursday, December 15, from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, December 17, from 1-5 p.m. Both events are free and everyone is invited.
Thursday evening, Dec. 15, Santa will make a special visit to College Hill Center, 127 North Grand. He’s been anxious to check out the Brownsville Arts Council’s Festival of Trees display and this is a great opportunity for him to see all the festive trees and visit with the children. Sammye Sanford with Mysterious Edge Photography will be there to take your photos with Santa or you may bring your own camera. Sanford is donating her services and asks that a donation of your choice be made to the Rescue Squad for each photo she takes.
Santa returns to Brownsville on Saturday, Dec. 17, and invites children to the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, 121 Sunny Hill Cove. Sanford will again be taking photos, and popcorn, hot chocolate and cookies will be available to benefit the Rescue Squad. Other fun activities for the kids are also being planned.
Santa will give out goodies to the children at each event, courtesy of the Brownsville – Haywood County Rescue Squad. For more information or questions, contact the Rescue Squad, Brownsville Arts Council or Delta Heritage Center.
